On this tour, we'll go to Pirque, one of the most prestigious and recognized areas of the Maipo Valley for growing vineyards, which happens to be a central location in Chile, just 45 minutes away from the capital city. Afoot of the Cordillera de los Andes, in between 500 to 800 m above sea level, the Maipo Valley is an area with a temperate thermal expansion. Amongst its native flora, there are both Methyl & boldo plants that contribute to provide certain balsamic characteristics to the wine here developed. This also means that the wines produced in the area contain a great concentration of tannins, as well as a great structure and intense color. Amongst Chile's wine production areas, the Maipo Valley has one of the largest number of vineyards. In our way there, you'll see 2 sides of Santiago: the suburbs & the enchanting farming of different types of fruits that are locally produced.
Our tour will begin with a pick up from your lodging. On the way to the Pirque area, we will pass through the suburbs of Santiago, mostly inhabited by middle class workers. Little by little we will start entering into a more agricultural sector, where we'll come across a varieties of productions and plantations. We will arrive to our first stop, the traditional Concha Y Toro Vineyard, where you'll enjoy a tasting with a spectacular view of the area and its horseshoe shaped architecture. After the tasting, we will head to the winery call Santa Rita winery half an hour away. Regardless of where you choose to have lunch (Menu) which is included on this tour we'll have over an hour of time dedicated to it so you don't rush and can enjoy in a relaxed pace. Once in the Santa Rita Vineyard, we'll do a guided visit & enjoy the final wine tasting of the day before returning to your hotel.(SANTA RITA MESEUM IS CLOSE ON MONDAY )
