A few years ago, I decided to venture into the Bavarian Alps to visit Neuschwanstein Castle. My goal was to enjoy a hassle-free day and discover the secrets that shrouded this mysterious place. The more I explored the castle, the more intriguing the story of Ludwig II, known as the "King of Fairy Tales, " became. This flamboyant monarch had lived a complicated life in Bavaria during the rise of the "Second Reich. " His passion for fairy tales led him to build the castle, and his friendship with composer Richard Wagner added a touch of mystery to his story. As you walked through the corridors, time seemed to stand still. Enigmatic paintings decorated the walls, and the windows seemed like portals to other worlds. The air was permeated with an indescribable magic, as if the fairy tales of Louis II were materializing before my eyes. Today I want to share with you that extraordinary experience of visiting this castle of Ludwig II so that you can take this this memory with you for a long time.
Ever dreamed of a journey where history meets mystery and fairy tales come to life? From Munich to Neuschwanstein Castle, Bavaria's "Romantic Road" will take you there. The drive from Munich to the castle takes approximately one hour and forty-five minutes, but before arriving, we will stop in the village of Hohenschwangau, under the castle's domain. After lunch, we will walk up the hill to the iconic Neuschwanstein Castle. You can walk or take a bus, the choice is yours! But keep in mind that on this excursion, a little adventure is inevitable. Once at the castle, you will be immersed in a fairy tale come true. Its imposing towers and dreamlike architecture will take your breath away. You will also discover the intriguing story of the "King of Fairytales", Ludwig II, and his friendship with the composer Richard Wagner, which you can still feel in the air. To end this exciting day, we will return to Munich via a mountain road in Austria, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Alps.
