Pompeii and Herculaneum led by an Archaeologist with private trasportation (from Naples)

The ancient city of Pompeii is probably the most important archaeological site in the world. . . and a tour there led by an archeologist even better! In the past, it was an agricultural and commercial center where about 20000 people lived. The eruption of Vesuvius by A. D. 79 covered it under about 7 meters of pumice, lapilli and ash. It is a unique emotion to visit a Roman city that integrates in all its architectural aspects. During the tour I will talk about the public and private life of the ancient Romans. Later, we'll go to Herculaneum, an incredible ancient Roman city, smaller than Pompeii, but much better preserved. It was a rich city of the Empire that faced the center of the Gulf of Naples; many of his houses are superb and elegant, showing that many of his citizens had achieved good economic prosperity. Herculaneum is located on the slopes of Vesuvius and for this reason was completely buried by about 25 meters of pyroclastic materials of the terrible eruption of Vesuvius occurred in A. D. 79
