I have travelled through almost 60 countries but nowhere I could see such huge and spectacular Salt Mine like this. There are a few in Europe and the world but this one is really special. My experience during last 15 years is that visitors are always amazed how such underground world may exist down there! I host you during this tour showing some special places and you will feel the importance and beauty of it as well as of the region. My guests always appreciate very much all our talks as well as tour itself. All underground! Wieliczka Salt Mine is one of the oldest in the world, situated east of Krakow. You can admire unforgettable beauty of underground chambers, corridors, lakes, sculptures, murals or chandeliers that are excavated and carved in rock-salt, e. g. the biggest underground church in the world - Chapel of St. Kinga. And you will breathe air healing ailments like asthma or allergy. This Mine was inscribed on the very first UNESCO list among twelve most significant sites of the world.
The tour includes: - meeting at the location set by You in or near Krakow (hotel, airport, . . . ), - private transportation, guidance and talks on the way, (ca 30 min) - 2 hrs long guided tour group or private (on request) including: - walking down comfortable steps to depth of 64m underground (on earlier request possibility of taking lift down), - walk on 3 different levels of the mine through beautiful chambers and corridors, - visit to the biggest underground church in the world (St. Kinga Chapel), underground lakes, the 36m high chamber where bungee jump and balloon flight took place, - return to the surface from the depth of 135 m with original lift used by miners, - 30 min long drive back to the place set by You in or near Krakow (hotel, airport, . . . ). On request other places or events You wish to have may be of course arranged (e. g. meal in underground restaurant). There is also possibility to visit Krakow, Auschwitz-Birkenau or other places on the same day. You are most welcomed!
