Driving from your hotel we will go to Søllerød and Holte where we will visit Soelleroed church, where your mother was confirmed, and the cemetary where your grandmother was buried and also visit Margrethevej 17 where she lived. I will show you a few other places and tell you about the background of the area at the time. I will also give you background on the emigration to the new world which took place in Denmark in the period between 1820 and 1930. Ten percent of our population emigrated in that period. It might give you an idea of what persuaded or drove the two of them to go to America. Following that we will drive out to the coast to visit the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. We will give special attention to the Robert Longo exhibition. We will pause for lunch or a light snack either at the museum or across the road in the old roadside inn, Gl. Humlebæk Kro.
