As a native Beijinger, l would say that the Jinshanling Great Wall is the most spectacular section of the entire Great Wall of China, bar none. The Jinshanling Great Wall is about 2. 5 hours drive from Beijing, the long distance makes it the least crowded section of the wall, even in the high season. Compared with other sections of the Great Wall, it has the best view, the longest hiking route (7 miles), the largest number of watchtowers (67 towers, Mutainyu section has only 20 towers 3 miles) most importantly, you can explore both restored and unrestored Great Wall here. This is something you cannot find in any other section of the wall. I have explored many sections of the Great Wall around Beijing in countless times.
